Wolfgang Puck Empire in Vegas

How many restaurants has Wolfgang Puck in Vegas? They are everywhere. Anyway I wasn't planning to visit but the first night, flight was delayed and the only place open late I found at the MGM Grand was Wolfgang Puck Bar & Grill. Also, let's face it he's a recognised chef and restaurants such as Spago are quite claimed and recognised.

Modern look, bar and grill Californian style, Chef Scott Irestone executing Puck menu, and in a perfect location to see Cirque du Soleil KA which was one of my favourite shows. Menu has soups, salads, some small bites, pizzas, pastas, and charcoal grill. 

I was with Mary so we decided to share a couple dishes, I got the garlic chilli glazed chicken wings with blue cheese dressing, Mary went for spicy tuna tartare, avocado, pickled ginger, cucumber, and crisp sesame wontons, and finally we share a pizza with prosciutto, Kalamata olives, oven dried tomatoes, basil pesto, and goat cheese. 

Chicken wings were ok, nothing special, a little bit sweet, not too spicy, the garlic was nice touch, blue cheese nice but little mild. The tartare was quite good, best dish by far, good spicy kick, good balance, wonton crisps were great, and the spicy sauce was superb. Then the pizza was nice, good crust, nice flavour, my only issue was they put the Parma ham in the oven with the pizza, for me that’s a no no! The goat cheese was nice and the pesto gave a good flavour, overall a good pizza. 

Empire reminds me the Seinfeld episode “The Non-Fat Yogurt” 

Jerry: Oh, hey, I had the show of my life last night. I ad-libbed like ten new minutes 
Kramer: Yeah, but did you tape it? 
Jerry: Right there, I got it. I did this thing on the Ottoman Empire. Like, what was this? A whole empire based on putting your feet up? 
Kramer: Yes! 
Jerry: I'm telling you, I got like a whole new Tonight Show here
