Curry in SW19

A friend recommended to try an Indian restaurant in Wimbledon, the place Raka, traditional home cooked, spice rich cuisine, intimate and small place, offering Tandoori, Mughlai, and Bengali dishes, with a great service. 

The place
Inside
Food is cooked to order, nothing pre-prepared so allow time to get your food, we opened with a king prawn tikka massala, really nice, the spices were great, a bit different. Then a Sag Aloo, spinach and potatoes, again quite nice, nicely prepared. Hash Bhuna, to have a bit of duck, really nice, great seasoning. Then the lamb chop grill massala, excellent, great seasoning with herbs, and spices, top that with a sofrito using tomato and onions, pretty nice.

To end the dinner a lemon surprise, a sorbet to clean the pallet, quite fresh, and a great presentation.

Nice food, accessible, not pretentious, with full of flavour. 

The spinach reminds me the Seinfeld episode “The Nose Job”
